We are two sisters who have a lot to say on the topic of ASD! Having lived, and worked with Autism Spectrum Disorders foremost in our minds over the past two or three decades, we have  a lot of information and resources to share.

Emily is the mother of a son with autism and now a professional in the autism field. Barbara is an autism expert with more than thirty years of experience in education. We have written our book together to personally guide each reader (professionals, families and others) through the process of understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders, how ASD affects your loved one, student or client, and what you can do about it.

Each chapter provides essential information, guidance and resources needed at different stages in the process of:

  • Getting a diagnosis

  • Dealing with the impact of it

  • Understanding and obtaining in-depth, meaningful assessments

  • Obtaining supports and services

  • Developing individualized programs at any age or stage of life

  • Working effectively as teams, assisting families

  • Transitioning from one phase of life to another.

If you are thirsty for information, our book is like drinking from a firehose! We invite you to take little sips, referring to various chapters and revisiting them time and again.

We discuss many topics about ASD on this website.
